About Luxury Pools Guide

This site is built by pool professionals who’ve designed and installed 7,000+ luxury inground pools across the United States in 11 cities across 7 states. No sales pitch. Just honest answers to help you plan your pool project with confidence and start making family memories.

Luxury Pools Guide exists because most pool websites don’t tell you what you actually need to know. Many focus on selling a pool, not educating the homeowner. Great pool builders understand that while profitability matters, so does helping homeowners create the backyard they’ve envisioned from the start.

They list vague cost ranges. They avoid talking about timelines. They leave key scopes of work out of their bid so they can appear to be the best price. They hide the trade-offs between pool types. And they definitely don’t mention the hidden expenses that show up after you’ve already committed to a builder.

We built this site to fix that.

The content here comes from real projects from real builders, not generic industry advice. The cost estimates reflect what pools actually cost in Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Arizona, and California.

Our timelines account for permits, weather delays, and the realities of construction. Our advice recognizes that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. There’s only the right pool for your property, budget, and goals, built to the highest standards.

If you’re researching pools, this is the resource we wish homeowners had before we started building for them.

Why We Built This Site

Most pool builder websites exist to generate leads. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s how the industry works. But it creates a problem: builders have an incentive to make pools sound simpler, faster, and cheaper than they actually are.

We wanted to create something different. A resource that:

Gives you real numbers:

not “$50,000 to $150,000” ranges with no specifics

Explains the trade-offs:

gunite vs. fiberglass vs. vinyl liner, and why each matters

Covers what other sites skip:

permits, site prep, hidden costs, maintenance realities

Helps you make better decisions:

even if you don't hire us to build your pool

Luxury Pools Guide is our way of sharing what we’ve learned from 7,000+ projects without the pressure of a sales conversation. You get the information you need to plan your pool project. If you eventually want to work with us, great. If not, you’re still better informed than you were before and that is great for the homeowner and the luxury pool industry.

That’s the goal. Ensure every homeowner gets the exact pool they desire while truly understanding the fun and challenging process it takes to get there.

Our Background

Our group is led by professionals with more than 100 years of combined experience. Having installed pools across 11 cities in 7 different states and completed complex projects from $50,000 to $1,000,000+, we can be a great resource for homeowners like yourself.

Our team of experts is always striving for excellence and continued improvement to the luxury pool process where we can apply the latest project management discipline, quality standards, and operational systems to stay on the cutting edge of the pool industry.

The residential pool industry generates approximately $8 billion in annual revenue in the United States, with a projected 4% annual growth over the next decade. The industry is quickly evolving and we want to provide you with the information on cutting-edge technology, new design and water features, as well as real advice from years of learned lessons.

We believe that bringing together experienced pool builders to create an informational resource for homeowners provides valuable insight and practical guidance for anyone planning a luxury backyard project.

We approach each day as a new opportunity to learn, improve, and elevate the customer experience. Our goal is simple: get 1% better every day so we can build a company customers trust to do the right thing and create a great place to work for the people who make it possible.

What Makes This Site Different

We build pools every day

The cost estimates, timelines, and advice here aren’t based on industry averages or outdated research. They come from pools we’re building right now across 11 different markets.

We’re transparent about trade-offs

There’s no perfect pool type. Gunite offers customization but costs more and takes longer. Fiberglass installs faster but limits your design options. Vinyl liner is cheaper upfront but requires replacement every 7 to 10 years. We explain all of this, even when it doesn’t benefit us.

We cover the whole process

Most pool sites focus on the fun part (design and features) and skip the logistics (permits, site prep, hidden costs). We cover both because understanding the full picture helps you plan better and make more informed decisions throughout the process.

We don’t sugarcoat timelines

A gunite pool takes 10 to 14 weeks from excavation to completion. Permits can add 2 to 4 weeks. Weather delays happen. We tell you what to realistically expect instead of promising timelines we can’t deliver.

No pressure to hire us

You can read every guide on this site, use our tools, and never contact us. That’s fine. If you do want to work with us, we’re here. But the content is useful whether you hire us or not.

Our Editorial Standards

Everything on Luxury Pools Guide is developed with input from our team of 300+ employees, including pool designers, project managers, and operations staff who work on pool projects daily.

Our Relationship

Luxury Pools Guide is operated by a group of 10 independent luxury pool builders across the United States. We’re upfront about this because transparency matters. The content here is designed to help you research and plan, not to push you toward a sale. If you request a consultation, you’ll talk with our design team. But the information on this site is accurate and useful whether you hire us or not.

We believe that educating homeowners, even if they don’t become customers, builds trust in the industry and helps everyone make better decisions. That’s worth doing because we want to make the pool industry better for every homeowner.
